Long season has come to an end….
3 year battle is now over. Wednesday I drove out to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the 2010 ABA Grand Nationals. Missing a lot of races this year I was only able to get myself into the top 15 in AA/Elite men points and top 3 in Pro Cruiser. Having a good few weeks of training and no racing I was feeling very good going into grands. Friday for the R.O.C. I was riding great and breezed my way into the elite and pro cruiser main event but didn’t pull the results I needed to better my points. Saturday was a new day, Grands time. I worked my way through motos once again in class and cruiser giving me a spot in the main event. The cruiser title that I have been trying to get for a few years now was in sight once again. By main time we had to run 3 Elite main events determining the winner then 1 pro cruiser main. The first main I got 2nd behind Sam and feeling the burn. With two more mains to go even tho I just got a second I really wanted to focus on my cruiser main. I ended up dropping back in the next two mains to save a little more energy. I took 7th for the overall in the Elite men main. Time for cruiser. One lap and it was up to Danny Caluag and myself. Who ever crosses the finish line first gets the title. I had first lane choice so I took the inside. With nervous legs I didn’t have the best start but by the first turn I had taken the lead. Coming out of turn one I had 1st and Danny was in 2nd. I put together a smooth last lap of the weekend and crossed the finish line in first. Earning myself my first ABA Pro Cruiser title and the first to win the main event and title in over 8 years. It also came with a nice JBL home sterio. As long as I have been wanting this title the weight was finally off my shoulders. The first dream has finally come true. Now for the rest….
Good things in store for 2011. Thanks everyone for all the support…
